Stainless Steel Fixed Jaw for Cable Railing
The Fixed Jaw is an exposed, swaged, non-tensioning fitting that is designed to be surface-mounted on either metal or wooden posts in both level and pitched applications.
Details
Because of the mechanism of this fitting, it must be used with any kind of tensioning fitting on the opposite end of the cable run. While this fitting can be used on both level and pitched applications, it is most commonly used on pitched applications because of the pivoting action that occurs at tab and/or lag eye.
For metal end post installations, the Fixed Jaw fitting attaches to the end post by first installing a threaded tab into a pre-drilled and tapped hole in the end post and then connecting the fitting and the threaded tab by using a button head mounting screw. For wooden end post installations, the Fixed Jaw fitting attaches to the end post by first installing a lag eye into a pre-drilled hole in the end post and then connecting the fitting and the lag eye by using a button head mounting screw. For both types of installations, a ferrule must be swaged onto the end of the cable in order to retain the tension that is applied.
